Brought to you by Emerging Earth, at the forefront of International property investment
The cruising sector of the tourism industry in the Dominican Republic is "booming", it is reported.
Experts have predicted that around 82,000 travellers sailing on 40 different ships will visit the country during the upcoming cruise season beginning in October, Dominican Today says.
Any Brits who are considering the Dominican Republic for a Caribbean off-plan property investment may be interested to hear the estimate from the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association reported on the website, which suggests each tourist visiting Santo Domingo spends about $80 (around £40) on goods and services.
It found 33 per cent of travellers are European, 27 per cent are from the US and 38 per cent of cruise tourists come from Latin America.
Experience International recently reported that international property developers are increasingly moving into the Dominican Republic due to the growth of tourism seen in the Caribbean country.
It pointed out that the government's united approach with the private sector has driven the expansion of the nation's real estate and tourism sectors.
