Livingstone to advise Chavez
Former London mayor Ken Livingstone is to be a consultant for the Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
Livingstone originally negotiated a deal to trade cheap Venezuelan oil for city planning advice, but this was cancelled when Boris Johnson became mayor, reports the BBC.
However, following a meeting with Chavez, Livingstone said he was happy that the country would finally get the "advice that we promised".
The former mayor has long been a supporter of Mr Chavez and will now work with pro-government mayors in the capital Caracas on the subject of urban planning, which could be of note to those considering a Venezuela off plan property investment.
Mr Livingstone commented: "I am proud and honoured to be in a position to be able to offer my advice to those candidates as they start the task of transforming this city for the benefit of all its people."
Meanwhile, the government recently announced it is to launch April 13 Mission a new anti-poverty program for the country.
