New Blue Skies agreement for the Dominican Republic

A bilateral air transport agreement between the Dominican Republic and Canada will see airlines of both countries being able to use any cities with their aircraft or code sharing services.

The Blue Skies agreement, which may be of interest to those looking invest in fly to let properties, means that airlines can decide the frequency of services and prices to be offered.

Lawrence Cannon, minister of transport infrastructure and communities, told the news provider that the agreement will be of benefit to travellers, airports and airlines of both countries.

"This agreement is another step forward in the implementation of this

government's Blue Sky international air transportation policy which was put in place to open air transport markets," he added.

It is understood that the Dominican Republic is one of Canada's largest air travel markets with many services offered to and from the third countries as well as between the two nations.
